DESCRIPTION / ARTIST STATEMENT: "Finding the Light" is a tactile exploration of luminosity from 82 feet below the water's surface. This work captures the movement of the sea as it transitions from deep, quiet turquoise toward the shimmering, golden brilliance of the world above. Created with thick molding clay and real gold leaf, the surface is rich with ripples and sharp, energetic lines. While originally composed vertically to reflect the upward journey to the surface, the piece is balanced to be successfully displayed in any of the four orientations. Housed in a handcrafted gold leaf floating frame.
FRAMING & DISPLAY: This work is currently housed in a professional floater frame (simple metal or wood). Framing can be swapped at no additional cost if a suitable alternative is in stock, or updated for an additional fee prior to shipping. Please message the studio to discuss framing options.
