B Sepia Cascade - 48x60 - Oil over Acrylic - Gallery Exhibit DESCRIPTION / ARTIST STATEMENT: "Sepia Cascade" is a deep exploration of tonal atmosphere and light. Created using a sophisticated range of neutral tones and custom-mixed "living blacks," this work avoids the flat finish of tube-black paint. Because there are no pure blacks in nature, I mix my own using a limited primary palette of red, blue, and yellow. This process results in a series of rich, vibrating blue-blacks and brown-blacks that give the work an incredible sense of depth. The mood of this piece is transformative. Depending on the lighting and the choice of frame—be it silver, black, wood, or metal—the "vibe" of the work shifts dramatically from contemporary to classic. This is a statement piece designed to anchor a room and invite quiet contemplation. FRAMING & DISPLAY: This work is currently housed in a professional floater frame. Because the frame choice changes the aesthetic of this specific piece so much, I am happy to provide photos of the work in different framing options (black, silver, metal, or wood) at your request.
