This original oil was inspired by a winter's morning at the foothills of Tucson's Catalina Mountains. It is an example of Abstract Representational landscape high in color use and very high in intensity.
The original photos was taken by the owner on one Winter morning while taking out the recycling if you can believe that. The image is of what the famous architect, Josias Joesler, (1927-1956) would have seen the first time he walked on the lost and would have been his first inspiration as to where to position the heritage home on the lot. I've included my working image of the photo taken by the client to see where I began and where the work ended up.
I have over 30 photos of this work in various frames, angels, lighting from daylight to art light, detail shots from 2 inches out, as well as progression photos while being painted and original photography.
