Part of my 2025–2026 California Color Series, this work is featured in the Sonoma Coastal collection, highlighting the iconic beaches from Point Reyes to Jenner. This original oil was inspired by the shifting position of the sun over the rolling tides of the mysterious Sonoma coastline. The piece communicates the muted tones and atmospheric skies unique to Northern California, rendered with bold brush and palette knife work that emphasizes high color and rich texture in my signature primitive, impressionist style.
The creeping tide wets the sand at the surf, creating a wandering path of light and depth that moves inland before returning to the sea, reflecting a kaleidoscope of color from the sky above. In the distance, jagged rocks stand strong as the mighty midnight blue and carbon black sea finds its way to calm. To complement these colors, the work is set in a minimalist cool bronze metal floater frame, designed to integrate seamlessly into almost any interior. All works are inscribed to the collector and signed on both the front and back.
