This original oil was inspired by an Indian Summer day. This work is a FANTASTIC example of Abstract representational landscape high in color and very high energy with its canyon views south towards the bay and its threatening late summer sky. The 36 x 36 square is one of the hardest to paint. Many artist use what they call the Golden Spot for a focal point located typically upper right or lower left above or below the horizon line. There was no photography for this work, just an image I saw in my head. This work has hung in my home for sometime now. It is framed in a natural wood walnut floater frame.
Carneros is a prominent wine-growing region located in the southern parts of the Sonoma Valley in California. It's known for its cool climate, which is ideal for growing grapes like Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, especially for producing sparkling wines. Many wineries in the Napa and Sonoma regions use grapes from Carneros as a cool-climate component for their blends.
