Monet's Dreams: A Triptych In Color Three extraordinary oil. Panels one and three can actually be hung upside down. You are immediately drawn to the vast ranges of color. These panels are at least 12 layers deep of oil both brushed and knifed on the canvas. You will see the modern framing of the recessed brushed silver floater and the highly ornate Baroque treatment and how the triptych can be shown in a contemporary modernist setting or a museum feel. I painted the middle panel first alone then months later the arduous task of painting the other two panels working for a perfect match to color and texture while building out the composition of the scene from left to right and top to bottom mounting all three canvas vertically on the same easel.
